Mr Reid said all residents in close proximity of the fire should enact their bushfire survival plans immediately.

The Princes Highway is closed between Nowa Nowa and Newmerella and the Buchan-Orbost Road is also closed.
The CFA has also warned that power outages may occur for all areas east of Nowa Nowa to the NSW border.

"These fires have now been contained and CFA and DSE crews will patrol them overnight," Mr Reid said.
"It is expected that smoke will be present for a number of days in the areas surrounding these fires."
At Inverloch, 150km southeast of Melbourne, a small grassfire that began at a pine plantation spread to grassland but was later contained.
It was started by a broken powerline, the State Control Centre said.
Another fire, at nearby McLoughlins Beach, burned 800 hectares before it subsided after a firebreak was built.
That fire was being controlled, the CFA said.
A fire in the Basin Flat area near Licola, about 250km east of Melbourne, has been controlled and was expected to be contained in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
